Dycom Project Supervisor in Ellenboro, North Carolina

Overview:

This position is responsible for the completion of projects or programs and oversees all aspects of the project life cycle in a turn-key environment. The Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of projects and will rely heavily on experience and judgment to plan, organize and successfully complete projects and programs. Successful experience with large, complex turn-key programs is a must.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Will provide overview of telecom construction projects to ensure projects are aligned with design, budget and schedule. This person is a master problem-solver who is skilled in project and people management.

  • Five or more years of relevant outside plant work experience.

  • Lead construction teams from start to finish on fiber deployments and OSP construction

  • Assist field teams with resolving job related issues.

  • Bid, pre-construction, permitting/zoning, digging, construction, punch, and close-out.

  • Manage overall installation, maintenance, and upgrade of communication and utility infrastructure.

  • Coordinate field meetings, conduct onsite pre-construction surveys, ensure feasibility, and develop a strategy for installing fiber.

  • Act as SME on the deployment execution and closeout of fiber optic projects in metropolitan, rural and residential areas including: • FTTCS • FTTBFTTH • Backhaul • Backbone • Metro Fiber Ring Buildouts

  • Manage scope definition, review budgets, BOMs, pricing sheets, and site walk data. Coordinate design reviews, price reviews, and BOM approval process.

  • Ensure correct as-builds to document changes made in the field.

  • Project Management experience across multiple work groups and turfs.

  • Technical or project management experience.

  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.

  • Experience with making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.

  • Collaborate with customers, utilities providers, contracting teams, design engineering team, vendors, city officials and jurisdictional authorities as needed.

  • Responsible for creating reports for all jobs in our system.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Develop, maintain and update job progress.

  • Detailed documenting on projects.

  • Attend weekly conference calls to review the status of projects.

  • Responsible for tracking start and end time of job orders.

  • Monitor performance and help to resolve delays and issues.

  • Identify ways to streamline workflows and gain efficiencies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience of project management experience

  • PMI or PMP Certification (preferred)

  • MS Office Proficiency – in particular: Word, Excel, MS Projects.

  • Solid understanding of Google

  • Strong data entry and analytical skills

  • Detailed reporting skills

  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational and external customer communications.
